⭐ AI company Anthropic is paying $400,000 annually for their new ‘Events Lead’ role

For the last year, we’ve been told IRL is dead and AI will handle/replace your relationships. Now one of the biggest AI companies is betting big on IRL, and reminding us that the future may be human-proof after all.

The company behind Claude, is paying TOP dollar to have someone lead their events strategy, and another clear signal every company is becoming a media company, (trying to become) a community, and every serious brand is realizing IRL is not a “nice to have.”

Letterboxd’s primary investor ‘Tiny’ is looking to sell their 60% share in the company

Letterboxd, the social platform for movie buffs, has been a standout darling in the new-age Hollywood media landscape. The Canadian hold co, Tiny, acquired a 60% stake in the company valuing it at $50 million in 2023, and got close to selling it to The Ankler in 2025. Even with the investment, I give the Letterboxd team a ton of credit in staying true to the independent voice that gained them a massive cult following.

Now they look to be on the move again, and it’s being reported that everyone from MS Now (still a horrible name) to CNBC may be licking their chops to gain controlled of a platform with a true owned audience.

⭐ Podcasts ain’t dead baby!!!

Amazon & Oprah’s Harpo Entertainment inked a deal, which gives Wondery exclusive distribution & ad rights to The Oprah Podcast.

🧠 Today’s Big Brain Fact: 42% of Americans listen to a podcast every month

‘Michael’ rolled in to a record breaking $97 million domestically, and $217 globally – making it the best debut for a music biopic of all time + the 2nd best start of the year

The Writers Guild of America struck a deal with major studios earlier this month, but have now officially finalized the contract

The 4-year agreement contains ‘significant cutbacks’ in the writer’s health plan, but it does include individual premiums for the first time along with higher deductibles and out of pocket maximums. WGA voted 90% in favor of the deal, which “builds on gains from the 2023 strike.”

Major label’s filed a ‘landmark’ $2.6 billion copyright case against Verizon for enabling the infringement committed by their users, which has just been unanimously shut down.

TikTok’s ‘Add to Music App’ feature has reportedly clocked 6 billion track saves over the past year, led by ‘Die On This Hill’’ by Sienna Spiro

Spotify will roll out 1,400 Peloton workout classes for paid users, expanding into fitness , as the platform already hosts 150 million fitness playlists

Books, tickets, fitness, are they trying to become the everything app?

  1. Apple CEO Tim Cook is stepping down to Executive Chairman, with Hardware Engineering SVP John Ternus set to take over in September.

  2. AEG signs on 2 new Integrated Marketing VP’s, including Katie Mae Miller who has been with the company for 7 years, and Chelsea Cloud who is joining from Universal Music Group.

  3. Directors Guild of America locked in Russell Hollander through 2029, keeping its longtime negotiator in place for the next round of studio talks.

I am ADHD as hell and my brain moves faster than my body. I say no to 99% of companies asking to advertise their tools to our audience. Wispr Flow is one of the few I actually use. It’s helped get the mess in my head onto this page faster, cleaner, and closer to how I actually think.

Speak naturally. Send without fixing.

Wispr Flow turns your voice into clean, professional text you can send the moment you stop talking. Not rough transcription you have to clean up. Actual polished text — ready for email, Slack, or any app.

Speak the way you think. Go on tangents. Change your mind mid-sentence. Flow strips the filler, fixes the grammar, and gives you text that reads like you spent five minutes writing it.

89% of messages sent with zero edits. Millions of professionals use Flow daily, including teams at OpenAI, Vercel, and Clay. Works on Mac, Windows, and iPhone.
