⭐ ‘The Odyssey’ posted Christopher Nolan’s best box office opening ever with $264 million earned globally
Other things that are worth mentioning for this project:
It is the best rated Nolan movie so far on Rotten Tomatoes at 95%
This was the 3rd biggest film debut of the year
Nolan said he won’t be making another project for ‘at least 3 years’ because this pushed him and the cast to its limit
‘The Odyssey’ broke the ticket sales record for the UK’s biggest IMAX theater
⭐ Netflix bought Ben Affleck’s AI company InterPositive for a whopping $567 million
Affleck will be staying on as an advisor despite the buyout, and their goal is to develop AI tools ‘that keep filmmakers at the center of the process.’
⭐ The Emmys are set to decrease the number of awards that will be televised to ‘revamp the ceremony’ (all 5 of which are in the limited/anthology series or movie category)
⭐ Shane Gillis broke the Guinness World Record for most tickets sold at a solo comedy show with over 76,000
⭐ 21-year-old IShowSpeed opened the FIFA World Cup closing ceremony
The pre-show and Halftime Show faced a lot of backlash, and IShowSpeed & Post Malone are being slammed for lip-syncing. But my bigger takeaway is a creator just opened the biggest single sporting event in the world (yes I know the Olympics are bigger overall).
⭐ The NBA refuses to set their schedule for the season until LeBron James chooses his next team… Crazy to see a 41-year-old athlete still has that much motion
⭐ It wouldn’t be a global event without me taking every chance possible to make a meme out of it xoxo (Hope it was a great World Cup for all who celebrate)
