The worst career move is staying on the wrong path because you already worked so hard to get there.

After being promoted to agent trainee at WME, I got a chance to step back and really think about where I really wanted to be in 5 and 10 years. When you’re deep in the grind, it’s hard to zoom out. You’re so focused on getting the next thing right, that you don’t always stop to ask if it’s the thing you really want. I quickly realized I was still chasing the dream I had when I first started, before I knew myself well enough to admit I was probably way too ADHD to be an agent.

For me, pivoting from WME to Live Nation was a way to get closer to my real dream gig (at the time), working in music touring and festivals. Starting fresh was daunting after working so hard to get promoted, but the longer you stay on a train going the wrong direction, the longer it takes to get where you’re actually trying to go. Holy cliché!!!

Omar, who oversees all strategy, booking, and operations for LN, gave me that opportunity. His tours include The Weeknd, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Travis Scott, Kendrick Lamar, Jay-Z, Rihanna, J. Cole, Imagine Dragons, Mumford and Sons, and many more. I was also booking everything from ZHU to Korn. The early Pandemic was a weird time..

⭐ A Hollywood Breakup

Comcast is splitting itself in two, spinning off NBCUniversal and Sky from its cable and tech business as the old “content + distribution” synergy dream keeps getting dragged into the streaming-era graveyard.

The move gives NBCU/Sky more freedom to chase media growth, partnerships, and future dealmaking, while Comcast focuses on broadband, wireless, and tech. Basically everyone going back to their own group project before the final grade hits.

Peacock is finally playing nice with the streaming gods, launching its $16.99 ad-free tier on YouTube Primetime Channels after years of trying to build mostly on its own island. Love Island USA is one of the big names to tag along with the move.

This is NBCU’s latest “please discover us anywhere” play joining recent deals with Apple, Walmart, Prime Video, Roku, and Google. TLDR: Peacock is trying to bulk up before NBCUniversal’s post-Comcast glow-up era.

⭐ Olivia Rodrigo joins Beyonce as the only other artist to debut their first 3 solo albums at the top spot on the Billboard charts

⭐ Fox’s World Cup Pregame Show has 2x’d its audience from four years ago

The pregame show is averaging 2.4M viewers, up 117% from 2022, proving the tournament has become full-day appointment TV when it’s on U.S.-friendly time. Home turf, better time slots, and a spicy studio mix of Rebecca Lowe, Thierry Henry, Zlatan Ibrahimović, and Alexi Lalas (soccer legends) have turned the pregame into its own spectacle.

What a crowd for Trump’s celebration of America! It was canceled shortly after this picture due to “inclement weather” (even with a rain or shine policy).

⭐ Jesse Eisenberg Isn’t Feeling Social

He reportedly turned down a returning role in ‘The Social Network’ because he is “moving in different directions in his life.” That’s a “No Notes” movie for me, and maybe one and done isn’t so bad after all.
