⭐ ‘The Super Mario Galaxy’ movie is officially the first film to reach $1 billion of ticket sales at the box office in 2026. Theaters stay ripping and June ‘26 should set some sort of record.
⭐ Netflix confirmed that theatrical releases like Greta Gerwig’s ‘Narnia’ or ‘Stranger Things’ are an exception and not the rule.
“There is a group of filmmakers who still want theatrical, and those are filmmakers that we’ve accepted we just won’t work with.”

“When this deal closes, we will own a theatrical distribution engine that is phenomenal and produces billions of dollars of theatrical revenue that we don’t want to put at risk. We will run that business largely like it is today, with 45-day windows.”
