Netflix & other streamers have been snatching up YouTube/social-first shows like Infinity Stones. YouTube just flipped the script and poached a Netflix show of their own. It’s a huge move and illustrates ability for creators to own their audience on YouTube
⭐ Sony Pictures Motion Picture Group Chairman says ‘movie theaters need to get off that ad crack’
As a consumer, I can understand that ads will probably become a mainstay in order to keep theaters afloat financially. It’s also true that I don’t like them and would rather see more movie trailers. Or actually less of both but whatever.
Either way, I don’t think a major studio exec should be the one dunking on theatres about bringing in more money. And that’s today’s tea.
⭐ Disney lays off 1k employees to ‘streamline operations,’ spanning across Disney studios, TV networks, ESPN, & more with Snap announcing the same
Next announcement will be fat bonuses for the c-suite.
