Below is a sneak peek at our new branding. We have a fun slate of guests announcing Friday. Respond back to this email with people you want me to interview.

⭐ Mazda is betting big on films to sell their next wave of cars
The automaker is launching a new version of their CX-5 SUV, and are developing 5 short films with the Director Paul Hunter across genres.
“The CX-5 competes in a highly competitive category where virtually every couple of months there’s an all new something. So we couldn’t just come out with another standard automotive spot, we really needed to do something that broke through.”
The real question is now: which brand is NOT jumping into the content game. We are still so early in brands becoming content studios & creating original series because traditional ads just don’t work anymore. Also a ton of opportunity for creatives wanting to work in “Entertainment.” Just need to stretch your definition of what that means.
⭐ Warner Music Group buys out indie music platform Revelator to boost their global operations
⭐ TikTok unveils a new integration with Cameo
Cameo became a unicorn in 2021 ($1B valuation) after a $100M investment by Headline. Revenue hit $150M-$200M during those peak Covid years.
2 Years ago they raised a down round by over 90% and struggled to pay a $600k fine. This feels like the end of the road unless they revamp their business model, and this partnership is probably the right move.
⭐ Lisa from BLACKPINK becomes the first ever K-Pop artist to have a Las Vegas residency
⭐ Meta names first Edits chief amid original content push
Reels made with Edits jumped to 10 percent of daily views in Q4 (up 3x) as Meta leans on free tools to compete with CapCut’s paywalled features.
Why this matters: Platforms are in constant competition for creator content, they have to keep pushing features, monetization, tools, and support to retain their top voices the very thing that makes the platform valuable in the era of social media (minus the social)
I just beg you to stop switching the location of the buttons on IG and give us chronological order back plz.
⭐ Letterboxd is teaming up with the independent movie distributor Blackbear
Their collaboration is tied to the release of the movie ‘Tuner,’ and it will bring Letterboxd’s ‘Four Favorites’ format to theaters before the film begins.
⭐ Alex Cooper’s Unwell Network is debuting a YouTube reality show as their first ever original competition series
Umm does this sound familiar? It should. Creators own distribution & are continuing to find ways to deliver content direct to their fans. More control = more $$. Or at least creative decisions. Selecting that guy from the Bachelorette drama was certainly a creative decision though.

Every week we drop our favorite podcast & book recs.
Today we have Charlie Puth on What Are We Even Doing? Charlie plays the keyboard mic'd up, discusses his creative process, breaks down how a sound becomes a song, and describes what it’s like collaborating with Jeff Goldblum. (What more could you want in a podcast?)
Who should watch this: anyone who wants to deeply understand the creative side of the music industry and how artists truly work.
Another awesome conversation facilitated by the team at Central Talent Booking.
