⭐ A movie was literally STOLEN

This feels right out of The Studio, but Simon Afram and Op-Fortitude sued Netflix for at least $105 million after an unencrypted master of Fortitude, a Nicolas Cage spy movie, vanished from its Los Angeles office. The film had been delivered for an acquisition screening. LITERALLY STOLEN

⭐ The FIFA drama has intensified

After they announced plans to sell a 20% stake to bring in more money now all 55 European member associations voted to boycott the 2030 World Cup if the deal goes through… it’s almost like the money isn’t the point of the tournament 🤯

⭐ Netflix and AMC signed a $500 million/5-year deal for the global streaming rights for all ‘The Walking Dead’ franchises

The main show has been on Netflix since 2011, and this deal will now bring all 371 episodes across 7 series to the platform. Their agreement is ‘coexclusive’ which notably still allows AMC to debut everything on their own platforms too.

Netflix continues its shopping spree of other platform/studio IP. At the last engagement report, licensed titles filled eight of Netflix’s top ten TV shows.

⭐ Attendance of the WNBA All-Star Game outdrew the NBA for the first time AND broke its own all-time record this season with 19,783 fans
