AvA LIVE Lineup Booked In Partnership With:

⚖️ Paramount Skydance “made concessions” and cleared a major legal hurdle in its $110 billion Warner Bros. Discovery deal by settling with California and 11 other states.
The terms:
They will operate Warner Bros. Studios and Paramount Pictures separately
Independent editorial boards for CNN and CBS
30 films a year for 2 years, and 32 movies a year for the next three
$30 million penalty for each movie Paramount misses below its pledge
$300 million more annually to make movies in the U.S.
"The settlement is not a vote of support for this merger”
📽️ California Governor Gavin Newsom signed a bill creating a new $10 million post-production tax credit
The goal of this bill is to further encourage projects to work on post-production in California, and they had a larger goal of $100 million in mind. This ‘modest allocation is seen as a positive first step towards that.’
⚽ Nike lost their 20-year long shoe deal with French Football player Kylian Mbappé as he makes the switch to ‘On‘
2 big wins for On: One of the most recognizable figures in the entire sport Mbappé jumps to the company plus Thierry Henry joined as their new Director of Football as well.
The most interesting (and exciting) part about all of this is that On still hasn’t even launched their first pair of shoes for the sport, with their sights set on a 2027 launch.
Mbappé and Henry joined them for a chance to help create something entirely new (alongside equity in the company with major upside), and this may just open the flood gates for more companies to enter a long-monopolized industry.
🌳 Sony & Universal Music filed a new 45-page lawsuit against Suno’s label backed ‘v6’ model because it’s ‘still a fruit of the same poisoned tree’
🇪🇸 Spain's state-backed fund SETT put $252M into film, TV, games and new tech over 12 months, pulling in $269M in matching private money
🏢 Jalen Brunson of the New York Knicks launched a new sports, business, and philanthropy firm called Thirty Third Management Group
Thirty Third is a family ran operation with his mom as President, and both his sister and longtime friend will hold leadership roles too. Oh, and Jalen himself was signed as the first client.
💸 The TJ Martell Gala raised $3.2 million for cancer research
🏈 Have you ever wondered what NFL refs are doing when they aren’t working weekend games?
Their roles range anywhere from high school Administrator meets Basketball Coach, to Aerospace Software Engineering. Super interesting and enlightening read by Front Office Sports.

🏟️ Our Friends at Breaking and Entering who run an awesome live show in the advertising world are ALSO going IRL. I sat down with them to better understand why they are all-in on in person
After building your audience online, what made you want to bring everyone together in person for your 100th show?
Jack & Geno: We started getting interest from our audience to do a more industry conference style event. But we definitely didn’t want to do it like your standard industry conference. We have a really incredible and powerful community, so bringing all of them together is very important to us. But we’re focusing heavily on entertainment for this. The world doesn’t need another panel about AI in marketing, but they do need guitar solos, fog machines, backflips, whiteboard smashes, etc
You can reach any guest online. What changes when you’re in the same room, and what can’t you replicate virtually?
Jack & Geno: In real life energy is unmatched. It’s objectively hard to get excited and amped up answering questions behind a screen in a room by yourself. When you have A live audience and you’re actually IRL, it just leads to a livelier conversation. Our whole thing is being high energy, so it just feels like the energy gets to a whole new level IRL. I would never call it performance art but if there was ever anything that got close to performance art in advertising trade media it would be this.
